Carl Lentz, former pastor of celebrity church Hillsong, has reportedly received a helping hand from media mogul Tyler Perry after being ousted from his high-profile role and facing allegations of infidelity.

A source has said he has recently sought treatment at an outpatient facility that “specializes in depression, anxiety, and pastoral burnout,” according to People. Lentz, who once served as the spiritual adviser for Justin Bieber, was fired from Hillsong in November after 10 years and later admitted to being unfaithful to his wife, Laura, whom he married in 2003 and is the mother of his three children.

“He wants to be better for his family and is dedicated to doing the work,” the source said of Lentz. “His family is supporting him and hopes their privacy will be respected on this journey.”

Lentz’s termination from the New Jersey church was confirmed in a statement on Nov. 4 by founder Brian Houston, who cited “ongoing discussions in relation to leadership issues and breaches of trust, plus a recent revelation of moral failures.”

As Lentz recovers, sources told The Sun that Lentz has received support from Perry, who reportedly set up Lentz and his family in a Los Angeles mansion. Friends of the pastor told the publication that Perry is covering a six-month lease at the $4 million property.

The 5,000-square-foot, five-bedroom property costs $16,000 a month and sits along Manhattan Beach. Perry reportedly shelled out about $96,000 for the six-month lease. Perry is also providing emotional support to Lentz, according to the source.

“Tyler has been friends with Carl and his wife Laura for years and is sticking by them and their kids during this difficult time,” a source said.

“The House Of Payne” creator has been a longtime confidant of the Lentz family. In 2018, the Atlanta studio head posted a picture of him reading Lentz’s book, “Own The Moment.”
