A 32-year-old truck driver died in a crash on I-20 East in Cobb County on Friday, officials said.

The driver was identified Monday as Kyra Brown of Flowery Branch, Cobb County police spokeswoman Officer Sarah O’Hara said in a statement.

Investigators said Brown was driving west of Riverside Drive in a white Freightliner tractor-trailer shortly after 6 p.m. Friday. Then, “for unknown reasons,” the tractor-trailer left the road, went down a shoulder, up an embankment and into several trees, the statement said.

Brown was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the crash.
