The Cherokee County teenager who was unable to attend his graduation due to his cancer treatments and died earlier this week will return home Friday evening.
Cherokee firefighters will lead the procession once the body of Logan Droke, who was 17 when he died Sunday, arrives at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Department spokesman Tim Cavender told AJC.com the plane should arrive about 6 p.m. from Houston, Texas, where Droke was undergoing treatment at the University of Texas MD Anderson Center. The procession could affect traffic on I-75 North and I-575 North.
Droke, who was diagnosed with leukemia when he was 9, was hospitalized at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite before he could attend his May graduation at Creekview High School, AJC.com previously reported. That prompted widespread support from first responders around metro Atlanta and the country.
Cherokee County firefighter Randall Droke, Logan’s father, had his coworkers attend graduation in his son’s place.

Cherokee and Cobb County firefighters also organized fundraisers to help the Droke family offset the cost of the teen's medical bills. As of Friday night, a GoFundMe page for the family had raised nearly $20,000.
