Authorities are investigating a tanker truck crash that led to an oxygen leak and temporary hospital evacuation in Lumpkin County.

All roads have reopened after a tanker truck crash and oxygen leak led to closures and a hospital evacuation early Sunday.

The crash knocked out power in the area, forced officials to temporarily evacuate Chestatee Regional Hospital and blocked roads near Crown Mountain Drive and Mountain Drive, according to the Lumpkin County sheriff’s office.

Repair and restoration efforts were completed Sunday, and the hospital evacuation was lifted.

The accident happened when a wheel from the oxygen-filled tanker truck slid off the road and caused the tank to detach and flip, Lumpkin County’s chief deputy told Channel 2 Action News.

No injuries have been reported in the incident about 65 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta.
