Lockdowns lifted for 3 Columbus schools

Lockdowns reportedly were lifted at three schools in Georgia’s Muscogee County late Thursday morning after two suspects in a non-school-related incident were sighted near the facilities, according to WTVM.

A large Columbus police presence was reported at Northside High School by WTVM. Veterans Memorial Middle School and North Columbus Elementary School also were locked down Thursday morning.
One suspect reportedly was taken into custody, and another suspect remained at large, according to WTVM.

No injuries have been reported, and no students were reported to be involved in the police activity.
The perimeters of all three of the schools were secured by police.
