A suspicious vehicle tried to enter the White House complex Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Secret Service.

The vehicle was stopped and the individual was taken into custody by Secret Service officers.

A black Mercedes SUV tried to follow another vehicle that was lawfully allowed past an external checkpoint, the Secret Service said.

The vehicle has Texas license plates and more than $1,300 in parking violations from the streets around the White House, according to ABC reporter Sam Sweeney.

Authorities searched the vehicle and removed clothing, according to Sweeney.
