After more than a year on the market, the St. Regis Atlanta penthouse has a new owner.

The property atop the Buckhead high rise at 88 West Paces Ferry Road NW recently became the most expensive condo ever sold in Georgia.

Former owners Howard and Lynne Halpren sold the property for a record-setting $13.9 million on Dec. 13 — exactly $2 million less than it was originally listed for.

So who is the new Buckhead resident with such deep pockets? It’s not entirely clear.

According to Fulton County records, the purchase was made by EHLO, LLC  — a corporation registered in Delaware, presumably to hide the buyer’s identity.

AJC research shows that the acronym "EHLO" is sometimes used to reference email server technology and Curbed Atlanta reports that the sale involves a local tech billionaire.

But beyond that, it's unclear who exactly shelled out some serious cash for the penthouse — the most expensive sale since Tyler's Perry's massive Buckhead home was purchased for $17.5 million.

The Halprens have owned the St. Regis' crowned jewel since 2009, according to previous reporting from the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Howard Halpren is the former owner of The Buckhead Beef Company, which he sold to Sysco more than two decades ago, according to the newspaper.

The St. Regis property boasts nearly 10,000 square feet, 13-foot ceilings and five bedrooms, according to a previous listing for the property.
