Herbert "Cowboy" Howard, who lives in Haywood County, North Carolina, uttered the chilling line ""He's got a real pretty mouth, ain't he?" in "Deliverance" to a terrified Jon Voight.

Howard, who turned 80 on Aug. 21, said he worked at Ghost Town, a Wild West-themed amusement park in North Carolina, with Reynolds. He said knowing Reynolds helped him get the role as the villainous toothless man in “Deliverance.”

Howard said he saw Reynolds, 82, three weeks ago at the Bubba Fest in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

"It hurt me because he was a real good friend, and it hurt me bad when they called me and told me he passed away," Howard said.
