A man shot his girlfriend in a busy DeKalb County shopping center over the weekend and is still at large, police said.

Deandre Farris, 22, is wanted on a charge of aggravated assault following the Saturday afternoon shooting, DeKalb police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer told AJC.com on Monday.

There is a warrant out for his arrest with the sheriff’s office.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the woman was found with a gunshot wound to her leg in the shopping center on Lawrenceville Highway near Lavista Road in Tucker.

Her injuries were not life-threatening, and the woman was released from the hospital the same day, Spencer said.

The shopping center, near the center of Tucker, is filled with restaurants, including Starbucks, Firehouse Subs and Five Guys, and several local businesses.
