Richard Mirabile, 44, of Congers, stole toilet and urinal handles and flushing fixtures from eight fast-food restaurants in the borough, WCBS reported, citing a police report.

According to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Mirabile did not order food at the restaurants but instead "made a beeline for the restrooms," where he allegedly removed the fixtures, valued at $250 each, and stuffed them into a bag, the New York Daily News reported.

Mirabile's alleged stealing spree began Nov. 23 at a Wendy's restaurant in Ridgewood, WCBS reported. On Dec. 26, Mirabile allegedly stole fixtures at a Bean & Bean coffee shop and at an Arby's in Fresh Meadows, the television station reported. He was arrested Dec. 28 after he allegedly pilfered the equipment from a Burger King in Astoria -- a restaurant that had also been vandalized on Dec. 7, Newsday reported.

Mirabile was charged with third-degree burglary, third- and fourth-degree criminal mischief, petty larceny and attempted petty larceny. He will be arraigned in court Jan. 9, the Daily News reported.
