Georgia doctor Leila Denmark dies at 114

Denmark weighs 14-month-old Amber Jimison, of Buckhead in 1998. Denmark had planned to retire in 1985 when she moved to Forysth county from Sandy Springs where she'd practiced for 40 years, but continued to practice medicine until she was 103.

Dr. Leila Denmark, who practiced medicine until she was 103, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Athens. She was 114. A native of Georgia's Bulloch County, Dr. Denmark was the only woman in the class of 1928 at the Medical College of Georgia.
