President Barack Obama announced Sunday night, May 1, 2011, that Osama bin Laden was killed in an operation led by the United States.

SECURITY TIGHTENED--City of Atlanta K9 officer Ryan Abrahams & Yara patrol Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Monday, May 2nd. Officials say that there is usually a K9 patrol at the airport every day but they were more visible Monday because of Osama Bin Laden's death.

HISTORY LIVE-- Students in Beth Sullivan's 6th grade business and computer science class create collages of the historic death of Osama bin Laden to publish on the class website wall at Cousins Middle School in Covington on Monday, May 2, 2011. The class has done similar projects recently on the tornado outbreak and on Earth Week. Students had to pull five images from the web, attribute the source, create a collage, and post it to their wall.

SUSPECT IN CUSTODY-- A hostage standoff that began as a home invasion at a Roswell apartment continued into Tuesday morning, May 3, 2011 as additional SWAT units arrived at the complex off Holcomb Bridge Road. Around 3 a.m., an Alpharetta police SWAT team joined other officers at the Aspen Pointe complex and the standoff continued at 6:15 am. Roswell police said shots were fired in the apartment and three people were being held hostage by two suspects. No one was injured as the standoff ended.
