CLIFF ROBERTSON (September 9, 1923 September 10, 2011) was a film and TV actor. He portrayed John F. Kennedy in "PT 109" and had recurring appearances on a variety of TV shows, including "Batman" and "Falcon's Crest." He died at the age of 88 from natural causes.

ANDY WHITFIELD (July 17, 1972 - September 11, 2011) was an actor and model, best known for his lead role in the TV show 'Spartacus.' He died of non-Hodgkin lymphoma at the age of 39.

ELEANOR MONDALE (January 19, 1960 - September 17, 2011) was a radio and TV personality and daughter of former Vice President Walter Mondale. She died of brain cancer at the age of 51.

TROY DAVIS (October 9, 1968 - September 21, 2011) was convicted of the 1989 killing of Savannah police officer Mark MacPhail and sentenced to death. Always maintaining his innocence, he garnered support from death penalty opponents around the world. After he exhausted all of his appeals, Davis was executed by lethal injection at the age of 42.

FRANCES BAY (January 23, 1919 - September 15, 2011) was a character actress who played Adam Sandler's grandmother in "Happy Gilmore." Bay died of pneumonia at the age of 92.

ORLANDO BROWN (December 12, 1970 - September 23, 2011) was a professional football player who played for the Browns and the Ravens. He died at the age of 40 from diabetes complications.

PETER GENT (August 23, 1942 - September 30, 2011) was a professional football player and author. He played for the Dallas Cowboys and wrote the book, "North Dallas Forty." He died at the age of 69 from pulmonary disease.

SYLVIA ROBINSON (March 6, 1936 - September 29, 2011) was a singer who went on to establish Sugar Hill records, which helped launch the rap genre. She is often referred to as the "mother of hip-hop." She died at the age of 75 from heart failure.
