President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter, accompanied by about 40 friends and family members, toured the Georgia Aquarium and Atlanta Botanical Garden last week during their time in Atlanta.

The Carters usually travel at the holidays but stayed in Georgia this year. They worshiped on Sunday at Ebenezer Baptist Church, where their grandson, Jason Carter and his family, are members. Parishioners included Christine King Farris, sister of the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

Later on Sunday, they visited the Atlanta Botanical Garden, enjoying the beautiful scenery both inside and outdoors.

At the Georgia Aquarium, the Carters and their group took a behind-the-scenes tour, attended a presentation and then had a personal meet and greet with Diego the sea lion.
