A fight between two boys on a school bus, during which pepper spray was deployed, is under investigation.

While preliminary reports suggested a bus driver used the spray, district spokeswoman Jill Strickland said that has not yet been determined.

“There are still questions that need to be asked and answered,” she said.

Strickland said two students got into a fight on a bus outside of Maynard Jackson High School. At some point during the fight, which was being broken up by an assistant principal, pepper spray was used.

The assistant principal and several students received medical attention following the use of the pepper spray, including 10 students who were taken to a hospital by bus. All of the students were treated and released to their families, Strickland said.
