Princess Eugenie of York will marry Jack Brooksbank Friday in a ceremony at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. Here's what you need to know about the groom.
Background: Brooksbank, 32, is a descendant of the Brooksbank baronets. His parents are George and Nicola Brooksbank. George is an accountant, according to Town & Country. Reports say that he is a distant cousin of Eugenie, through Thomas Coke, 2nd Earl of Leicester.
He has a younger brother named Tom, 29, who works in business management in London, Town & Country reported.
Occupation: Brooksbank attended an elite boarding school but did not attend university, instead launching his career in the hospitality industry. He worked his way up to managing the trendy nightclub Mahiki, before becoming European brand manager for Casamigos Tequila, the company co-founded by George Clooney.
He's had a longtime dream of opening a chain of pubs, Sky News reported.
How he met Eugenie: The pair met while on a skiing trip in Switzerland in 2010, Sky News reported, with Brooksbank reportedly saying it was "love at first sight."
The couple were able to maintain a long-distance relationship when Eugenie moved to New York City in 2013 for her job, Town & Country reported, managing the separation by communicating a lot by Skype. Eugenie returned to London in 2015.
He's not the only Jack in Eugenie's life: Eugenie has a dog named Jack, People reported.
Engagement: The couple became engaged in January during a trip to Nicaragua. In a video posted on the official royal family website, Eugenie said it was an "incredible moment" when Brooksbank popped the question.
Wedding: The wedding will take place Oct. 12 at 6 a.m. EDT at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. Princess Beatrice will be the maid of honor and Jack's brother, Tom, will be the best man. Some 800 guests are expected to attend, including many royal family members. Legendary singer Andrea Bocelli will perform at the wedding.
