This Twitter meme sent Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Dreams’ back to the Billboard charts

Thanks to one March 22 tweet from Twitter user @bottledfleet, Fleetwood Mac's 1997 hit "Dreams" catapulted back to the Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart at No. 14 on April 7.

The song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 1977.

“Fleetwood Mac’s music is so boring, you can’t even dance to it,” @bottledfleet wrote in the tweet, following up with “Me, an intellectual:” — a meme often used to humorously counter an argument online.

The user featured an old clip of the all-female Alcorn State University dance line, the Golden Girls, with the song layered over the footage.

The tweet garnered millions of views as thousands retweeted the video.

"I was shocked that actually somebody watched that video," Elexis Wilson, captain of the dance team and a college senior at the Mississippi college, told the Washington Post.
