Two people were killed and another person remains in critical condition Friday after a shooting at the Bunn-O-Matic warehouse in Springfield, Illinois, according to Springfield Police Department Chief Kenny Winslow.

The deceased victims are men in their 20s and 50s, Winslow said at a news conference. Another victim, a woman in her 50s, was found in the parking lot. She is in critical condition in the hospital. The suspect was not at the facility when officials arrived.

Winslow said the victims and suspect were all employees at the warehouse. At the time of the shooting, there were about 175 people inside the facility.

The identities of the two victims will be provided once autopsies are completed Saturday and next of kin are notified, the Sangamon County Coroner’s Office said.

By 1:49 p.m., the suspect, Michael L. Collins, 48, was found dead in his vehicle, according to officials with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Police Department.

Collins died of suicide. He had a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Winslow said at a news conference, Newschannel 20 reported.

“I’m here out of support for the victims, the families, our employees and our team members,” Arthur “Hy” Bunn, president and CEO of Bunn-O-Matic Corp., said at a news conference. “We just want to wish our best to the victims’ families.”

Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Bunn-O-Matic warehouse in Springfield on Friday morning.

WAND reported Sangamon County Sheriff's deputies were called about a shooting at the warehouse about 11 a.m. Friday.

Springfield Police Cmdr. Brian Oakes said in a media briefing earlier Friday that officers searched the large warehouse for possible suspects and victims.

“It’s an ongoing, fluid situation,” he said.
