A fight broke out between a security guard and customers at a McDonald's in California early Wednesday, and the brawl was captured on video, KABC reported.

The fight occurred at 5 a.m. at the fast-food restaurant in Santa Monica, according to a witness who recorded the incident.

According to the witness, several customers were drinking beer inside the restaurant but had not bought food, KABC reported. The security guard asked the customers to leave and a fight broke out.

The video shows a man repeatedly punching the security guard, who tried to spray pepper spray. It appeared that some patrons tried to stop the fight, with one man using a chair to hit one of the men punching the guard, but the brawl continued and spilled out the front door, KABC reported.

Police arrested one man for felony assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities are investigating to see if other charges may be filed, KABC reported.
