It may not sound like a big deal -- one artist covers another artist at a live performance. Singers do it all the time. So what?
Well, in this case, not only does said cover singer have almost the same name as the originating artist, the coverer (Ryan Adams) is known for really losing it when a fan asked him to sing exactly this song by exactly this artist (Bryan Adams).
It was 13 years ago, at the same Nashville venue when Ryan had an audience heckler kicked out of his performance when they asked him to sing "Summer of 69."
According to Billboard, Ryan responded to the request for the 1980s classic with a string of curse words. He then had the house lights turned on just so he could call the person out. Ryan gave the fan a cash refund and said he wouldn't play until the person left. Ouch!
So, when Ryan decided to take on an acoustic version of the song that got him so fired up more than a decade ago, it was kind of big deal.
