A North Miami Beach man was "actually cooked" after an alleged sauna timer malfunction, according to WSVN.com.

Dennis Antiporek, 68, was in the neighborhood sauna at the Eden Isles Condominiums community for three hours when his daughter, Laura Antiporek, went to check on him. She felt intense heat and saw her father's burned body. The daughter told WSVN that her father's skin was so dry that it looked "like a burnt piece of beef jerky."

His wife, Ronni Antiporek, said that her husband's body was curled in the fetal position inside the sauna and that pieces of his skin had shed onto the floor.

The Antiporek family's attorney, Jospeh Madalon, says the sauna's timer was faulty, so the sauna overheated.

"It...was so hot it turned a sauna into an oven," Madalon told WSVN.

The family plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the sauna's manufacturer and the homeowner's association.

WSVN  reports that Dennis would have celebrated his 69th birthday and his 50th wedding anniversary this week.
