Grocery chain Aldi has announced a recall of its Bakers Corner all-purpose flour due to potential E. coli contamination.
The 5-pound bags affected by the recall were sold in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
They all have a best used by date of Dec. 2, 2019, lot code L18A02B and UPC code 041498130404.
Aldi is telling customers to either throw away the affected flour or return it for a full refund.
The FDA says not to eat any raw items that use flour. Baking, frying or boiling will make the bacteria harmless. Also make sure you wash your hands, surfaces and utensils when cooking with raw dough or flour.
Consumers with questions are being told to call ADM Milling Co. customer service at 800-422-1688 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CT.
