UPDATE:  The fired worker has been offered her job back.

Marissa Holcomb thought the worst moment was over, after she was robbed at gunpoint while working as a Popeyes shift manager.

Then she was fired.

The pregnant mother of three said she was fired for refusing to pay back the money stolen during the armed robbery.

The incident was reported on March 31, when a masked man jumped the counter and held a gun to Holcomb, demanding money. She gave him everything in the registers, totaling approximately $400.

KHOU contacted a Popeyes spokesperson who claimed that Holcomb was fired for not following procedure by allowing too much cash to remain in the registers. The spokesperson also claimed that it was not Holcomb's first offense.

Holcomb was fired 36 hours after the robbery. She has been looking for a new job, but told KHOU that at five months pregnant, it is difficult to get hired.
