Ronald Yunis, 52, an obstetrician and gynecologist in Phoenix, was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated assault, the Phoenix Police Department said in a Facebook post.

The incident occurred Oct. 10 outside the Acacia Women's Center in Phoenix, KNXV reported.

As Yunis was pulling out of the women's center parking lot, he allegedly waved a weapon, briefly pointing it at the protesters, the Arizona Republic reported.

Phoenix police said in a Facebook post that officers collected evidence, including a video recorded by one of the people outside the women's clinic.

Phoenix Police Detective Luis Samudio said in a statement that detectives interviewed Yunis. After speaking with the doctor, detectives determined "there was sufficient probable cause to make an arrest," KNXV reported.
