Prince Harry is a proud first time father.
His wife, Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, welcomed their first child, a boy, early May 6.
Hours after his son’s birth, Harry spoke to reporters outside Windsor Castle about how the newborn and new mother are doing, and beamed with pride.
“Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning. A very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well,” he said. “It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful to all the love and support from everybody out there.”

Although he’s an uncle to three, Harry said this was his first birth. Because the baby was “a little bit overdue,” they’ve had extra time to think of names, but they are still deciding.
“I haven’t been at many births. This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and, as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife,” he said. “As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”
Harry said he and Markle plan to make another announcement Wednesday “so everyone can see the baby.”
