A 62-year-old man was wearing a Donald Trump shirt at a Friendly's parking lot in Bloomfield, New Jersey, when someone attacked him with a crowbar, police told NorthJersey.com on Tuesday.

The man said the attacker approached him and asked about the shirt he was wearing, started an argument and began to curse at him, police said. The attacker then proceeded to get out of his vehicle and assault the man using a crowbar, hitting him multiple times, police said.

The shirt read, "Trump for President. Make America Great Again," according to Jim Murdoch of News 12 New Jersey.

The victim was treated for injuries to his hands, thighs and forearms.

Police said the attacker fled the scene.
