The late President George H.W. Bush will lie in state in the United States Capitol rotunda, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced in a statement Saturday.
The public will be able to pay their respects from Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. EST until Dec. 5 at 7 a.m. EST. There will be a bicameral arrival ceremony Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. EST.
Additional arrangements beyond the Capitol events will be announced by the Bush family, the statement said.

The Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region task force announced earlier Saturday that it will oversee the state funeral for the late president.
“We, the men and women of the Department of Defense, are honored and proud to support the Bush family and will do so with the utmost respect,” Maj. Gen. Michael L. Howard, Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region commanding general said in a statement. “This state funeral is a culmination of years of planning and rehearsal to ensure the support the military renders President Bush is nothing less than a first-class tribute.”
