Colin Kaepernick continues to make the news for his political stands. However, how much do you know about the man himself? Here are five fast facts about the quarterback.
• Kaepernick was a top student. He graduated from his Turlock, Calif., high school with a 4.1 GPA.
• He nearly became a pro baseball player. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2009, but chose to stay in Nevada and pursue football.
• In 2011 he was drafted as a second-round pick by the San Francisco 49ers.
• Kaepernick broke the record for the most single-game rushing yards at 181 in 2013.
• In fourth grade, he predicted that he would be 6-foot-4, weigh 140 pounds and play for the 49ers. The only thing he got wrong was his weight- he is 230 pounds.
