California-based mass media conglomerate The Walt Disney Company is giving back to its community by donating $500,000 to support victims impacted by the wildfires in the state.
The company announced Tuesday that the donation will support the California Community Foundation's Wildfire Relief Fund, which supports recovery efforts from major wildfires in the state and preparedness efforts. Donations will also go to the California Fire Foundation, a nonprofit that provides financial and emotional support to firefighters, fallen firefighters and the communities they serve.

"The firefighters are true heroes, and we honor their tireless commitment as they continue to battle these devastating wildfires," Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger said in a statement. "Our hearts go out to the families and communities that have been so severely affected."
According to the company, Disney will also match donations made by its employees to eligible recovery and relief organizations.
