Two sheriff’s deputies from Chambers County, Texas, are being called heroes after they rushed into danger to save a man from a burning car.
Sheriff's office officials released the video showing Braedon Bozango and Carlton Carrington running to the car and pulling the man out of the vehicle that was in the middle of a pasture as witnesses watch, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The brave rescue happened last week.
The man’s abdomen and legs were on fire when the deputies were pulling him out.
They took him to a pond nearby to put out the flames, the Chronicle reported.
"I just remember watching the flames run up the man's face. I was thinking, 'This guy is going to burn to death if we don't get him out of this car,'" Carrington told USA Today.
The driver was the only one in the car and was taken to a Houston hospital in critical condition.
Neither deputy was hurt, but the fire did melt some of the equipment on their uniforms, the Chronicle reported.
