The cause of death of actor Logan Williams has been revealed as an overdose, his mother said.
Marlyse Williams, the mother of the 16-year-old actor who had appeared on “The Flash,” told the New York Post that preliminary toxicology results reveal that he died of a fentanyl overdose after a three year battle with addiction.
He died suddenly April 2.
“His death is not going to be in vain,” Marlyse Williams told the tabloid, “He’s going to help a lot of people down the road.”
Williams told the NY Post her son was discovered at age 9 by a casting agent when the two were at a mall in Vancouver. She was visiting from Los Angeles.
“She said he could easily become an actor,” Williams said.
Logan convinced his mother to let him give acting a try and she got him an agent. He got a part in a TV movie after his first audition.
From ages 10 to 12, he booked numerous parts, the most famous being Barry Allen in the first two seasons of “The Flash.”
Williams told the outlet she was not sure when Logan started using drugs, but she discovered he was using marijuana around age 13. She said it then progressed to other drugs and as his addiction continued, he “was in complete denial because he was so ashamed.”

Williams tried to get her son treatment, sending him to a center in the U.S. at one point and sending him to a facility in Canada last summer.
“I did everything humanly possible — everything a mother could do,” she said. “I did everything but handcuff him to me to try to keep him safe.”
Williams said she saw Logan last March 30, and they cooked dinner together.
“He said to me, ‘Mom, I’m gonna get clean. I’m going to get better. And I want my new life to start.’ I just know the last thing we said to each other was, ‘I love you,’ ” she said.
Williams said that from her son’s death, she hopes to “create awareness or help one or five or 100 people to somehow heal and get help.”
Earlier this week, Melissa Etheridge announced her 21-year-old son, Beckett Cypher, died of an opioid overdose.
“My heart breaks for her because I know the initial devastation of knowing your beautiful boy is gone. Unfortunately, I can relate,” Williams said. “We are in this horrible club. A club you don’t want to be a member of.”
