An Army helicopter pilot's career has gone full circle, so to speak. Chief Warrant Officer Joseph Shiver Jr. decided to bring the man who inspired his career in aviation on his final flight, WLTX reported.
CW3 Shiver is turning in his Army wings after 20 years.
He credits his father, Joseph Shiver Sr., for getting him hooked on flying when he was young, WLTX reported.
After graduating flight school, the two generations worked in the same unit at McEntire Joint National Guard base in Eastover, South Carolina, but they never flew together. Shiver Sr. retired and Shiver Jr. transferred.
During their time together in the air, the pair flew over the family home in Gaston, South Carolina, WLTX reported.
