A 17-year-old Macon resident was struck by lightning Saturday afternoon on a Florida beach.

The Marco Island Police Department said Walker Bethune was hit by lightning around 3:47 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Collier on Residents’ Beach.

According to ABC 7, Bethune’s father performed CPR on scene. He was taken to a local hospital by EMS, and then airlifted to a Miami hospital.
