A Crime Stoppers tip led officers to arrest a man Tuesday who was accused of shooting and injuring a man at a southwest Atlanta studio in December 2019, authorities said.

Tyreek Butts, 21, was on the Atlanta Police Department’s “Most Wanted List” for nearly a year. He has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting of Jared Scales on Christmas Eve, Atlanta police said in a Facebook post.

According to police, Scales said he was inside his studio in the 2000 block of Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway when a man he did not know came in and shot him on the right side of his abdomen. Butts was also injured in the shooting, but he was released from the hospital before being charged, authorities said. Investigators said they later identified him as a suspect in the case.

In response to the tip, officers located Butts inside a home in Riverdale around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

Butts has been booked into the Fulton County jail. He also faces charges of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
