More than 100 protesters now outside Fulton County Jail

By late Thursday morning, more than 100 protestors had gathered outside the jail, and they were prepared to wait for hours until the anticipated arrival of former President Donald Trump this afternoon.

Two pro-Trump protesters, who said they were from Georgia but declined to provide their names, held a sign bearing the image of Stacy Abrams that quoted her as saying, “Democracy has failed Georgia.”

They pointed to Abrams’ reaction to losing the 2018 election to Gov. Brian Kemp as hypocritical. Abrams refused to concede, even as she acknowledged Kemp would be the next governor.

”She denied her election,” one said. “She and her lawyers aren’t being charged with felonies.”

The other, wearing a Trump bandana as a mask and holding an “impeach Fani Willis” sign, said he believes corruption runs deep throughout the U.S. judicial system.

“The truth is she’s not the only guilty party,” he said of Willis. “Do you think she’s doing this by herself? There’s many layers of people behind this entire thing.”
