MiMedx Group Inc., a Kennesaw-based biomedical research and manufacturing company, is moving its corporate headquarters to Marietta, the company disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

MiMedx is leasing 79,854 square feet of office, laboratory and warehouse space at 1775 W. Oak Commons.

The company is a supplier of amniotic tissue used in wound care by surgical, sports medicine, ophthalmic and dental health care providers. The tissue comes from placentas donated by mothers delivering full-term Caesarean section births, the company said. The mothers can elect in advance of delivery to donate the placenta.

MiMedx plans to begin occupying the Marietta building in May under a nearly six-year lease agreement with HUB Properties GA LLC. It will have the option to extend the lease for five years.
