Atlanta police are investigating a Sunday night shooting at a home in northwest Atlanta that left a man dead.

The victim, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as 37-year-old Michael Powell Jr., was found dead by officers who responded to a 7:30 p.m. report of a person shot at a house on Cedar Avenue, Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said.

Jones said no one else was inside the house when police arrived, and no witnesses have been located.

After investigators secured a search warrant, “a quantity of narcotics was located inside the residence,” Jones said.
