Less than a week after opening its 500th store in Midtown, Whole Foods announced it will donate five percent of its sales at metro Atlanta stores to a nonprofit focused on urban agriculture.

The 11 locations will donate as part of the company’s annual community giving day held Thursday, April 18, according to a news release.

Proceeds will go to the Food Well Alliance, an organization that supports urban agriculture in Atlanta. The funds will provide more than 300 community gardens and urban farms with tools and business assistance among other resources.

On April 5, the company opened its latest store on 22 14th St in Midtown, the largest in the Southeast region. At 70,000 square feet, the store is twice the size of other Whole Foods locations and includes a rooftop bar, a pub, microbrewery.

The store celebrated its opening with giveaways and live music.
