Decatur residents have all the bragging rights this year.

The metro Atlanta suburb was just recognized as the top in Georgia for 2018 by Niche.com analysts who assessed the overall livability of an area based on cost of living, crime rates, quality of local schools, employment and access to amenities.

The study used data from the U.S. Census and defined a suburb as “a place located within a Census-defined urbanized area, but outside the principal city with a population of at least 1,000.”

This is the second year in a row that Decatur earned the top spot on the list, but while the suburb ranked No. 26 on the list of Niche.com's 2017's Best Places to Live in America, it fell to No. 60 in the 2018 ranking.

Still, Decatur was recognized for its A+ rating, followed by Johns Creek at No. 2.
