Grammy-winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams will bring her hypertension awareness campaign to Atlanta this weekend.

Adams is participating in the "Believe in Healthy BP" campaign to raise awareness about  the disease and its  impact on African Americans. Hypertension increases the risk of heart attacks, stroke or kidney failure. According to the campaign, about 40 percent of African Americans are taking medication high blood pressure.

Adams will speak about wellness, health and spirituality.

Her health and wellness tour will be held noon until 5 p.m. Saturday at St. Philip AME Church, 240 Candler Rd. SE.  Doors open at 11:45 a.m. It will include free blood pressure screenings and educational materials, including a doctor's discussion guide and blood pressure log.
