Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there will be neither a July 4th Spectacular Parade and Festival nor a Freedom Run on Independence Day in Woodstock – but there will be a fireworks show, the city announced.

“We consulted with elected officials, state officials and staff and determined that there is no good way to stage Woodstock’s annual parade and festival this year with current restrictions (on crowds) in effect,” Woodstock City Manager Jeff Moon said.

However, he added, “we are proceeding with the fireworks show as regularly scheduled, given that the layout of the area that is utilized for viewing the show easily allows for social distancing.”

Fireworks will take place at dusk at Woodstock Square, near Ga. 92 and Molly Lane; traffic details will be posted to the city's social media channels. The Freedom Run has been postponed to this fall, and a new date for the event will be announced in the near future, officials said. Information: https://bit.ly/2AhWNYT
