DeKalb County police are looking for the boyfriend of a woman found shot to death early Friday.
Officers responding to a 1:30 a.m. report of shots fired at a home on Walden Walk Circle found Atima Smith, 36, suffering from a gunshot wound, DeKalb police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said.
Smith was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.
"According to detectives, the victim and her boyfriend were upstairs in a bedroom and for an undtermined reason shots were fired," Parish said in an e-mail.
"The victim's boyfriend fled the scene and detectives have identified him and are actively searching for him," Parish said.
