Cherokee County deputies are investigating a fatal accident involving a 43-year-old woman on Towne Lake Parkway near Woodstock on Tuesday.
The woman’s westbound Lexus SUV left the roadway and struck a tree in the median around 7 p.m. just east of Running Deer Parkway, Lt. Jay Baker said.
The woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene, did not appear to be wearing her safety belt, and the car had no other passengers, Baker said.
The sheriff’s office is withholding the woman’s identity until next of kin can be notified.
