Smyrna Police have identified the woman who tried to rob a bank this morning as Lira Edmond, 27, of Dublin.

Police say Edmond entered the RBC Bank on South Cobb Drive around 10 a.m. and announced a robbery. Officers were called, and they arrested the unarmed woman before she gained access to any money.

Police spokesman Michael Smith said Edmond was charged with robbery and could face additional charges of false imprisonment, because she “restricted the movement” of customers inside the bank.

Edmond is believed to have acted alone, Smith added.
