Which Gwinnett cities are among Atlanta's best suburbs?

Livability website Niche.com has released its new list of the "best" suburbs in metro Atlanta, and no Gwinnett County cities made the top 10.

But several got close.

The rankings -- which are based on data from the U.S. Census, Department of Education, FBI and more -- use key factors like cost of living, crime rates, employment and school quality. Decatur took the No. 1 spot in the latest list, with Big Creek Township (Forsyth County), Alpharetta (Fulton County) and Johns Creek (Fulton County) close behind.

So where did Gwinnett's cities (and communities) fall, you ask? Twelve made the list's top 50 (click the hyperlinks for each city's full Niche.com profile).

• No. 12: Peachtree Corners

• No. 14: Suwanee

• No. 17: Buford

• No. 26: Lawrenceville

• No. 27: Berkeley Lake

• No. 30: Mountain Park

• No. 34: Sugar Hill

• No. 38: Lilburn

• No. 44: Grayson

• No. 49: Snellville

• No. 50: Norcross
