Atlantans certainly know how to have fun, whether that means hitting the town's best restaurants, catching a weekend festival or dancing the night away at one of the city's best clubs.

And that's why the metro was recognized among the most fun cities in America in a new ranking from personal finance website WalletHub.

To come up with the list, WalletHub analysts compared the country’s 150 most populated cities across three key dimensions: entertainment/recreation; nightlife/parties and costs.

In their analysis, the team examined 58 relevant metrics, such as number of attractions, restaurants per capita, bars and music venues per capita, average price of a beer, movie and more.

Of the 150 most populated cities in the U.S., Las Vegas, Nevada, came out on top, ranking first for nightlife/parties, sixth for entertainment/recreation, but 77th in costs.

Here’s how Atlanta fared in WalletHub’s ranking:

  • Overall rank: 6
  • Entertainment/recreation: 10
  • Nightlife/parties: 9
  • Costs: 87
  • Most restaurants per capita: 5
  • Most dance clubs per capita: 1 (tie)

Two other Georgia cities — Augusta and Columbus — are also listed among the top 150 most populous cities in the nation.

Both cities, however, ranked low for "most fun" with Augusta coming in at No. 120 and Columbus at No. 137 on the list.
