DeKalb County traffic on I-285 will be about as bad this weekend as it is during the work week.

Georgia Department of Transportation workers will close three lanes on I-285 in conjunction with the Flat Shoals Bridge reconstruction project, according to a news release. Work is scheduled to begin Friday evening.

The closures will allow work crews to pour concrete in preparation for installing lights on the road, GDOT officials said.

Two right eastbound lanes will be closed between the Bouldercrest Road exit and Shoals Creek from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday.

One left westbound lane will be closed at Flat Shoals Bridge from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m Monday.

Drivers are urged to find an alternative route and slow down in construction areas.
