It's been a week since Christopher Jamaal Barber's mother found her son fighting for his life outside his Lithonia home.

Since then, no arrests have been made in the case and all police seemingly have to work with are a gun found in Barber’s front yard and surveillance video of the deadly attack that shows two men and a white SUV, possible a Durango.

Amy Barnes told police she was sitting inside the Stone Mill Manor home at about 10:35 p.m. on Dec. 3 when she heard a gunshot and banging on the door, according to a DeKalb County police report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Barnes told police she believed the people knocking were attempting to get inside the home.

DEKALB CRIME NEWS:

Shortly after, she saw Barber on the ground, according to the report. He was later pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The shooting was captured on surveillance video.

According to police, the video shows one of the men arrived in a white SUV and briefly spoke with Barber. The man left, but later returned with a second man, who walked up to Barber’s garage and was carrying a gun.

The video then shows the two men running from the home with Barber chasing after them. The suspects left the scene in the SUV.

A silver revolver was found on the road near Barber’s body, according to the report. A shell casing was found in the garage.

Police described the men as having slim builds, about 6-feet tall and wearing a light-colored sweatshirt. The driver was believed to be wearing light-colored pants and the armed suspect was wearing blue jeans or dark sweatpants.
