To celebrate Veterans Day on Sunday, attractions across the Atlanta area are offering deals for the women and men who have served our county.
Check out some of the deals below.
World of Coca-Cola
The downtown attraction already grants complimentary admission to all military members (active duty, reservists and retirees) year-round, but for Veterans Day, it is extending an offer to their guests. From now until Sunday, Nov. 11, members of the Armed Forces may purchase up to four half-price general admission tickets for their friends and family. Tickets may be purchased with a valid Armed Forces I.D. card at the attraction's ticketing windows.
Side note: The 37th Annual Georgia Veterans Day Parade will begin in downtown Atlanta at 11:11 a.m. on Saturday and pass directly in front of World of Coca-Cola. A free Veterans Day Festival with exhibitor tents and a performance by the 116th Army Band will take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. in Pemberton Place, just outside the venue.
Zoo Atlanta
On Nov. 11, veteran, active-duty, retired and reserve members of the U.S. Armed Forces get free admission and $4 off general admission for up to six guests. Present a valid military I.D. at Zoo Atlanta to redeem the discount. (Members of the military get $10 off Zoo Atlanta membership year-round. For details, call 404-624-5662.)
Six Flags Over Georgia
Military Appreciation Days during Veterans Day Weekend, Nov. 10-11, means free admission for active military members and up to three dependents. An unlimited amount of additional tickets may be purchased for family members or friends for 50 percent off, which comes to $34.49 plus tax per ticket.
AMP is offering $20 Karting sessions to anyone with a military ID during the month of November.
Atlanta locations are offering all active and retired military members and first responders free tire, brake and battery checks — “Checks for Vets” — from Nov. 9 to 11, plus 10 percent off tires, up to $250. Appointments can be booked beginning Nov. 9.
Nationally, Goodyear Auto Service and Just Tires will donate up to $10,000 to Folds of Honor. Folds of Honor will receive $5 for every veteran or first responder who redeems the "Checks for Vets" offer.
