Utility assistance program off to $3,500 start

The Henry County Water Authority recently presented a $3,500 check to Samaritans Together of Henry County, the first such contribution under the authority’s new Charitable Assistance Program which was approved at the end of 2014. Funds are generated by customers who voluntarily round up the totals on their monthly water bills, and the money will be dispersed by Samaritans Together to help needy customers pay their water bills.
